Alex Higgs – Les
Alex has played multiple roles from Snug, in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Serge, in Art by Yasmina Reza and Lupine Wonse, in Terry Pratchett’s Guards! Guards! Alex also enjoys playing the piano in his spare time. After a break of nearly eight years, Alex is proud to be performing with the Open Door Theatre Company once more.
Steve Hyett – Eric
After qualifying with his L.L.A.M. (Hons) from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in 1989, Steve has acted in a wide variety of productions from touring pantomimes to Shakespeare and musical theatre productions. He has also written several plays, comedy sketches for TV and written and performed his own stand-up act. He has also directed a number of shows including The Wedding Singer, Our House and Bad Girls.
Adam Hyde – Ralph
Although training originally as a visual artist, Adam has enjoyed performing in amateur theatre for around 15 years, taking on both major and minor roles in plays as diverse as A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Importance of Being Ernest, and Blue Remembered Hills.
Mike Smith – Judd
Mike studied drama at Birmingham School of Speech and Drama in the late 90s. He has directed a variety of shows over the years, ranging from pantomime and musical theatre to school productions including Grease, Oliver, Little Shop of Horrors and Annie. Mike has also directed classics from Oscar Wilde and Chekov as well as award winning productions of Shakespeare plays. He is looking forward to taking this production of Bouncers on tour in the near future.
Tom Greenhalgh – Technical Support
Since graduating from the University of Worcester, Tom has worked in a range of technical roles with performing groups from both the amateur and education sector. He has worked closely with Mike Smith on numerous projects involving disengaged youth and as a result is highly experienced in all forms of theatrics and melodrama.
